Is incarceration punishment or part of rehabilitation? Explore this ideological tension and the history of America's prison system as part of a learning and missional community meeting this spring.
(New!) There are two options for taking the online (via Zoom) Christian Essentials class this spring:
Sunday mornings, from January 31st to March 28th, 8:30-9:45am ET or
Tuesday evenings, from February 2nd to March 30th, 8:00-9:15pm ET.
Click the button below to sign up for either time slot.
This class is an introduction to the essentials of Christianity, including its historic teachings, beliefs, and practices, so as to inform the mind's thought, transform the heart's belief, and form the hands' actions. A key goal of this class is to look at different parts of the biblical story in order to connect this story, God's story, to our own. We will explore what it means to follow Jesus in light of some of the pressing spiritual and social questions of our time.
Is this class for you? Christian Essentials is a great class for folks who are exploring Christianity or new to the Christian faith. The larger focus on the Scriptural story as a whole also makes it a great way for seasoned Christians to get (re)acquainted with the Bible and the study of Scripture at a deeper level. This course also serves as one of the prerequisites for adult baptism or confirmation at Highrock.
